Baildon Rugby Club are recruiting a lead forwards coach to join our coaching team.

Working Times & Pattern: Weekdays (Tuesday & Thursday Evenings) & Saturdays

Baildon Rugby Club are looking to recruit an experienced and ambitious forward’s coach who demonstrates a fantastic work ethic to join the coaching group, currently competing in Counties 2 Yorkshire. Experience of working in a performance environment with professional or semi-professional rugby players desirable.

The role is to lead in creating a strong environment for the forwards unit, whilst developing players to fulfil their potential across the whole senior playing squad.

Skill & Experience

  • Clear understanding and knowledge of forward play, especially around the set piece
  • Strong analytical skills for whole squad and individual analysis
  • Experienced in delivering presentations to the squad
  • Coaching experience within a performance rugby environment and working within a management group
  • Ability to plan engaging coaching sessions and manage support coaches
  • Building strong working relationship with fellow coaches and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and drive a strong forwards culture and style aligned to the club’s playing philosophy
  • Communicate clearly with staff, players and members of the wider club
  • Analyse strengths and weaknesses of individual and team performances within your given area
  • Awareness of opposition and mould game plans accordingly
  • Assist in recruitment of players to the whole senior playing squad
  • Support the learning of all club coaches and assist in developing forwards coaching across the wider club.

Requirements

  • RFU Level 3 Coaching Certificate – Desired but not essential (RFU Coaching Award / L2 minimum)
  • Knowledge of current coaching / training processes and modern trends within the game
  • Previous or current playing experience as a front 5 forward essential
  • RFU National League experience (playing or coaching) desired but not essential.

Although not a full-time position, the nature of this role will require the successful candidate to able to put the requisite time and commitment into the role. Financial package will be offered to the successful candidate based on experience and expertise.
